Obama to talk terrorism with European leaders
President Obama will participate in a counterterrorism strategy session on Monday with European leaders in Germany, the White House announced Wednesday.
“The president looks forward to discussing with these European partners our joint counterterrorism efforts and the need to more effectively share information between our countries and within Europe,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Wednesday.
U.S. officials have repeatedly urged European allies to beef up their lackluster intelligence-sharing practices in the wake of terror attacks in Paris and Brussels.
The leaders will also discuss the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and conflicts in Syria, Ukraine and Libya.
