Spy memoirs

Book by ex-KGB spy living in Capital Region due out in spring of 2017

Rensselaer County resident Jack Barsky, who revealed to "60 Minutes" last year he used to be a KGB spy, is set to publish his book in the spring of 2017.
Jack Barsky, the Rensselaer County resident and former KGB agent who outed himself last year on "60 Minutes," has been talking a lot more lately about his story as he prepares to publish a book about his life.

Barsky's literary agent Eric Myers of Dystel & Goderich in New York City told the Times Union on Tuesday that the tentative publishing date for Barsky's book is the spring of 2017.

The working title is "Deep Undercover," and the publisher that acquired the rights is Tyndale Momentum.

Although Barsky couldn't be reached for comment, he has been keeping himself busy lately and become much more public since the "60 Minutes" story ran in May 2015.

Barsky had been working as an IT specialist for the New York Independent System Operator in North Greenbush, although he left the job just before the TV show aired.
