MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. Number of
forced immigrants from Ukraine staying in Russia reaches 850,000 people,
Konstantin Romodanovsky, the director of the Federal Migration Service said in
an interview that will be published by the Rossiyskaya Gazeta daily on Monday.
“This situation (around the refugees
from Ukraine - TASS) is really problematic although we’re coping with it
so far,” he said. “More than 40,000 people who came from Ukraine have joined a
state programme for resettlement of fellow-Russians. They arrived in this
country together with their families.”
Participation in the programme envisions
assistance in determining their future place of residence, job placement, and
material benefits.
“The
programme has full-scale funding and participation in it infuses the new
Russian citizens with confidence about their own future,” Romodanovsky said.
“It also means a benefit for Russia’s demography and economy.”.
