500 Restaurants Nationwide Discover Major Credit Card Breach That Started in 2014

Landry's Inc., the restaurant conglomerate whose 500-plus locations were hit with a credit card data breach last year, has announced more vital information to customers. According to a release, criminal attackers installed a program on the company's payment-processing devices at chains like Morton's Steakhouse, Rainforest Cafe, and McCormick & Schmick's.
"The program was designed to search for data from the magnetic stripe of payment cards that had been swiped (cardholder name, card number, expiration date and internal verification code) as the data was being routed through affected systems," the statement said.
