Sniffing out uranium on the move

The Pentagon wants a sensor that can detect highly enriched uranium from inside a moving vehicle. "The most challenging task is detection from an undisclosed survey vehicle moving at no more than typical urban speeds," noted the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), in its research solicitation.
