US Process for Identifying, Penalizing Terror Groups Still on Track
The US Department of State’s procedures for identifying and penalizing foreign terrorist organizations (FTO) are working well and do not have to be changed, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) said in a report.
The report explored the process by which the Secretary of State designates FTOs, the extent to which the State Department considers input from other US government agencies during the designation process as well as the consequences that US agencies impose as a result of a FTO designation.
