Russian nuclear warplane filmed flying over rebel-held territory in Syria just miles from Turkish border
One of Russia’s nuclear warplanes has been filmed flying over Idlib in Syria just miles from the Turkish border.
The enormous Tupolev Tu-95 bomber was seen in the skies over the rebel-held territory, which has been hit repeatedly by airstrikes.
The ‘Bear’ aircraft, which is ageing but fearsome, has a wingspan of 164ft and is staffed by a crew of seven.
Russian president Vladimir Putin announced in 2007 that Tu-95 patrols would resume, 15 years after they had ended.
