Pentagon Burned as Chemical and Biological Warfare Budgets Slashed
A new report, initially prepared in June, and leaked to the media on Thursday, centers on the US Department of Defense’s Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBDP), aimed at neutralizing risks related to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats.
Under the program, the US military tracks chemical and biological warfare agents, develops anti-contamination equipment and carries out scientific research.
The Pentagon stressed in the paper that running the program “has become increasingly difficult,” due to recent budget cuts.
