Law enforcement issues warning about drugs in schools
Today, many parents put their students back on the bus for the start of another school year.
Area law enforcement says now that summer is over, it's important to know that drugs could be making their way into the hallway of your child's school.
"There's no age that's too young, and no age that's too old to have that conversation with your student," said Lt. Clay Hammac, commander of the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force.
Hammac says in the weeks leading up to the start of school, his department ramped up its awareness campaigns. "To make sure teachers know what we know, that parents know what we know," he explains.
