New Poll Shows Clinton’s Lead Over Trump Shrinking
According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday, the lead of Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton over Republican nominee Donald Trump — which had jumped significantly following the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia — has shrunk to less than 3 percent.
The poll of 1,154 likely voters indicates 42 percent prefer Clinton to 39 percent for Trump. The poll’s margin of error was roughly 3 percent, meaning the race is virtually even.
The poll also showed registered voters preferred Clinton by five percentage points, as opposed to eight percentage points on Monday.
