German intelligence 'to be reorganised in response to spy scandal'

BND chief Gerhard Schindler arrives at the enquiry commission on the US intelligence agency NSA in BerlinGerman intelligence is reportedly facing a major overhaul in response to a damaging scandal after it emerged it had spied on European partners at the request of the US.
Gerhard Schindler, the head of the BND intelligence service, wants to bring all 6,500 of its field officers back under central control, according to Süddeustche Zeitung newspaper.
