Russia deploys special operations troops to Transnistria

Russia deployed several dozen "reconnaissance groups" on the territory of Transnistria in order to carry out military exercises. The exercises were carried out under conditions resembling combat, according to the Western Military District press service.
"The operational reconnaissance group of RF Armed Forces carried out a raid against a simulated enemy, defeated an ambush, and demonstrated a high level of tactical and special training," the press release stated.
